Hello readers! Just as the title says, today is an extremely special day. Today, The Positive Castle turns a year old! Now technically, I didn't start blogging until around September of last year, but on June 27th, 2017, this wonderful website was born. Looking back on when I created this website, it amazes me how much I've grown in my writing, the skills I've obtained, and how many amazing friends I've made just through blogging.
A year ago today, I decided to create this website because I wanted a place where I can, in a sense, call my home. I wanted to create a website where I'm able to talk about my mental health, share my tips when it comes to self-love and self-care, and a place where you, my readers, can feel safe to open your heart. The things I've shared and discussed on my blog in a year has been extremely scary for me. I really put my heart and soul out there when it came to the posts I've made because for once, I have a place where I can feel comfortable to share my stories.
I know I've "fallen off the wagon" when it comes to keeping a blogging schedule, and there were times I just completely gave up on blogging in general. Before The Positive Castle, I had several different blogs on several different platforms. I don't think any of my old blogs have made it to a year because I just let my passion, my drive, and love for writing die through self-doubt. Ever since I decided to make my own domain and have control of my site, I've felt really strong and committed to frequently make content.
Since creating this site, with the power of social media, I've been able to connect with so many new faces from around the world. I've been able to learn more about the blogging community, have others read my stories and get inspired, help others in need with support, and made some amazing friends who love and care about me. Although it's been one whole year of having this website, I still feel like a new blogger. I don't have a huge following when it comes to blogging, but that's okay! There's still a long way's to go in order to get to where I want to be in the blogging world.
To my readers, subscribers, the ones that may find this and give it a read, or to the ones who share my work: thank you. I'm still trying to "make it" in the community, reach out to many people, and inspire others. I may not be where I want to be right now, but I'll get there one step at a time. Here's to another year and more. As always, thank you so much for reading, liking, commenting, sharing, and subscribing!
